Methodologies
Can I buy just the methodology product and not Project Catalyst Desktop?
You are required to have Project Catalyst Desktop in order to view or customize the methodologies.
I bought Project Catalyst and the Project Management Methodology. Am I required to buy another copy of Project Catalyst if I want to buy the Six Sigma Methodology?
No. Once you have Project Catalyst, you can buy any number of methodologies from 6D and not require another license of Project Catalyst. Just like in Microsoft Project you can create any number of Projects without requiring a new license for each project, you can build and create a number of methodolgies using the same copy of Project Catalyst.
Product Functionality
Can I edit the Roles and Responsibility selection lists?
Yes. You can create a selection list based on your organization’s defined standards. Each role and responsibility can also have a description.
Can I edit the Topic (section headings) selection list?
Yes. You can create a selection list based on your organization’s defined standards. Each Topic title can also have a description to ensure that the author has a clear understanding of what is expected in the Topic description.
Can you link diagrams to the tasks in the Topics section?
Yes. Project Catalyst supports a variety of diagram formats including the most popular ones such as .bmp, .jpg, gif, etc.
Can I copy one or more tasks (processes) from one Project (or Project Template) to my new Project?
Yes. When you copy a task or process from one project to another, 6D Project Catalyst makes sure that all your methodology content is also brought over to the new location. That is, you will have all the descriptions, roles and responsibilities as well as document links carried over. This is the preferred way of rapidly building a WBS from standard set of processes in your Process Asset Library. This also helps you to harvest process knowledge from projects – continuous improvement!
Can I print the entire project methodology or save it to a Microsoft Word file?
Yes. You can print the specific task descriptions or the entire methodology.
Can I share my project methodologies including all attached documents with others on my team?
Yes, provided everyone has a licensed copy of 6D Project Catalyst and the methodology. You can all work over a network and share documents using shared drives. There is also a Portability feature in the product that allows you to save the project and methodology (including the linked documents) on portable media and then copying it to a desired location on the same or another computer.
Can I get a refund on the product after I have installed the products?
No. Please make sure that the products are what you need. Please review the Quick Tour video, sample screen captures, and the product concepts and facilities tour before making your purchase. The methodologies have many sample templates and the entire knowledgebase, all of which gets installed on your local or shared drive(s). You can also print the entire methodology. Please note that all sales are final.
